1. Remove solids

For exclusively milk fed babies (breast milk or formula), you can skip this step as their poop is water-soluble, so can go straight into the wash. For older babies and toddlers on solids, dispose of poop in the toilet.

Store nappy in a dry pail (open and airy basket) for 24-48 hours.

2. Pre-wash

Every 24-48 hours put nappies through a 30-60min 40-60-degree cycle with a half dose of detergent. Note: Night nappies require a 60-degree wash within 12 hours of coming off the bum.

Nappies can then be placed in a second dry pail to await the main wash.

3. Main Wash

Every 3-4 days all pre-washed nappies should go through a long (2.5-3 hour) wash at 40 degrees with a full dose of detergent.

4. Dry

Line dry nappies in the shade. Inserts can be tumble dried on low heat.
